Not all white cats are deaf, but it's certainly not uncommon. White cats with blue eyes are more likely to be deaf than white cats with eyes of any other color.

Deaf animals cn make fine pets, but they need to be protected from hazards they can't hear. For a deaf cat, that means an indoor life is the only safe choice. Although they can't bear the sound of the can opeoner or the treats shaking in their box, deaf cats cn adapt amazingly well. They can even feel the vibrations as you make your way to the kitchen treat drawer.

TidBit: The link between wite (and blue-gray) fur and deafness is also common in dogs, by the way, especially when the white patch is over the ear.

michelle : I love animals, landscaping and koi ponds, camping, the outdoors, weight lifting, dancing, reading, photography, and my church. I have always had a strong passion and desire to some how provide care to animals in a unique way. ( I can't bring home anymore animals) so I would love to open up an all natural and unique pet n' us store someday. I pray someday I will succeed at my goal.
